ESPN Hyping Up 4 Michigan Football Players For 2024

The 2024 season feels far away, but it’s never too early for some ESPN way-too-early projections. From Will Johnson to Colston Loveland and Rod Moore, a number of star Michigan football players are returning to Ann Arbor this fall — here are four Wolverines who are garnering some preseason first-team All-American hype.

ESPN hypes up four Michigan football players as potential 2024 All-Americans

With spring ball approaching quickly for the 2024 season, ESPN released its way-too-early All-American team for the coming year; four Wolverines are listed among the country’s elite players.

Rod Moore

Rod Moore recently announced that he will forego the 2024 NFL Draft and return to Michigan for his senior season — a major development for the Wolverines’ defense, which ranked No. 1 nationally in 2023. Per ESPN, Moore is the first of three Wolverines listed on their early first-team All-American defense.

Mason Graham

Joining Rod Moore on the list is rising junior defensive tackle Mason Graham, a standout defensive tackle for the Maize and Blue who shone brightly throughout the 2023 season. While Graham is still too young to go to the NFL, he is every bit good enough to make the jump and will be a major asset for the Wolverines during the coming season.

Will Johnson

Will Johnson was one of the top cornerbacks in the entire nation last season despite being a true sophomore; in fact, he is being projected as an early first-round NFL Draft pick in 2025 and ESPN pins him as a preseason first-team All-American. Throughout the coming season, keep an eye on Michigan’s former Defensive Freshman of the Year and 2023 first-team All-Big Ten cornerback.

Colston Loveland

The lone offensive player who made the cut for Michigan football, according to ESPN, is Colston Loveland, who is in a similar situation as Mason Graham. After standing out at the tight end position for Michigan in 2022 and 2023, Loveland is clearly one of the top tight ends in the country and would have been a top NFL Draft target this year if he were old enough to make the jump to the league. However, he is not, and the rising junior star could be in store for an enormous year with the Maize and Blue this fall — perhaps his final season in Ann Arbor.
