This weekend, offensive play-caller and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore will be making his return to the sidelines after missing last weekend’s game due to suspension. Moore, who is heading into his first game as the sole offensive coordinator for the Wolverines, could make a notable impact on the Michigan offense, which only managed to score 30 points against ECU on Saturday. Today, Michigan football star Colston Loveland gave his insight on how this will impact the Wolverines against UNLV.

Michigan football is excited to get Sherrone Moore back this weekend

This Saturday, at 3:30 PM (EST), Michigan football will host the UNLV Rebels in Ann Arbor in hopes of improving to 2-0 on the season. Last weekend, the Wolverines downed ECU by 27 points in the home opener and will be looking for improvements — especially on offense — this week. Sherrone Moore is finally going to be back on the sideline, which has Colston Loveland and others excited.

“Obviously, we missed those guys (Jim Harbaugh and Sherrone Moore), but I feel like we’re so prepared that if anything happens, we’re just gonna keep rolling,” said Michigan football star Colston Loveland. “But it’s gonna be nice to have him back on the sideline. Especially just talking through game plan changes at the moment and stuff. I’m definitely excited for him to be back.”

More from Colston Loveland on the UNLV defense

While Sherrone Moore was not able to be a part of last weekend’s Michigan football season opener, this weekend presents an entirely new challenge. Colston Loveland and the Wolverines are looking to make some changes and come away with a second-straight victory before wrapping up the non-conference slate against Bowling Green the following weekend.

“I mean nothing really that we got to put some exotic game plan together,” Loveland explained when asked about the UNLV defense. “We’re just gonna pick what we do, some things that we do, and just really got to tune those in and do them at a high level, and we’ll be alright.”

With Sherrone Moore calling the shots again, the Michigan football offense could take the next step this weekend and get back to mid-season form. If nothing else, it would be nice to see Michigan’s offense humming before Big Ten play starts against Rutgers later this month.
