Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning won't be eligible for the NFL draft until 2026, but that isn't stopping one prominent NFL fan base from already daydreaming about the idea of Arch as QB1.
Derek Allgood from 99.5's The Billy Madison Show in San Antonio recently joined the League of Her Own podcast and he suggested that the Dallas Cowboys should just go ahead and tank for Manning, despite the fact that he has zero career college starts under his belt.
"I don't think it matters with Dak Prescott as our quarterback, I just don't," said Allgood. " I think we need to start tanking for Archie (Arch) Manning, the future of the Dallas Cowboys. Because with Dak Prescott, it don't matter."
There's no doubt that Arch is already a player to watch for the 2026 NFL Draft (when he'll first be eligible to be drafted), but that's in large part because of his famous last name and his five-star recruiting ranking out of high school.
Manning looked promising in the Longhorns' spring game last month, completing 19-of-26 pass attempts for 355 yards and three touchdowns. But spring games, of course, can be deceiving. That's not say that Arch won't live up to the hype and become a future NFL MVP one day -- that's certainly a possibility. For now, though, that's far from a sure thing -- especially since we haven't see what Arch can do in games that count.

The idea of Arch to the Cowboys, however, is intriguing.
A Manning who played for Texas leading the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl win since 1996 is something straight out of a movie script.
