NHL Tuesday bets: Four prop plays feature familiar faces

For today in the NHL, we have a few familiar faces leading the way for shot props in what is an inviting slate of games on the ice.

Jack Hughes over 3.5 SOG (-102 FD)

Last night we bet Jack Hughes to score, and today we go to his shots. Is he destined to score a goal now? Probably, that's how things go.

Hughes' shots immediately catch the eye, as he's now gone over 3.5 in five straight games. That includes a game against Detroit ten days ago in which he piled on seven SOG.

The volume remains for Hughes, who has averaged 7.4 attempts per game over his last five games. Detroit allows 33.2 shots per game this year, and the New Jersey team as a whole is averaging nearly 40 shots on goal.

Hughes caught some flak from Devils coach Lindy Ruff after last night's performance, so expect him to come out motivated and firing tonight.

Nazem Kadri over 3.5 SOG (+112 FD)

I love this spot for Calgary shots, especially with Pittsburgh on a back-to-back. The Penguins just saw 47 shots and six goals from Edmonton, bringing their season average for shots allowed up to 37.0 per game.

Calgary has been firing off shots, averaging nearly 37 of their own at home, and Kadri has been a big reason why. He's finished with five shots on goal in three of his last four games, averaging 7.75 attempts per game during that stretch.

He's been quite active on the Flames' power play, and Pittsburgh has had issues with penalties on this young season.

Oliver Bjorkstrand & Nikita Kucherov over 2.5 SOG (+166 CZR)

We combine a few juiced guys who look to be in strong spots for shots this evening into a solid +166 play.

Bjorkstrand is absolutely rolling for Seattle, finishing with six SOG in two straight games and averaging 4.3 shots per game through seven games with his new team.

Buffalo is allowing 38.8 shots per game, the Kraken should be able to get plenty of shots off tonight at home. Bjorkstrand finished with four SOG in two of three games against Buffalo last season.

Kucherov has gone over this 2.5 number in four of six this year, and when he does he's finishing with no less than four. Despite a few recent misses, his attempts are always there, and he's had Los Angeles' number over his career.

Kucherov is over 2.5 shots in nine straight games against the Kings, averaging 4.11 shots/game in that stretch. Los Angeles is the third-most penalized team in the NHL this year and allowing 34.1 shots per game. Kucherov is going to have his opportunities.

Victor Hedman & Alex Tuch 1+ point each (+168 DK)

Two of my favorite spots to look for goals tonight are with Tampa Bay and Buffalo. We'll start with Hedman, as we just mentioned the issues the Kings are having allowing power plays (4.57/game).

That has been a contributing factor to Los Angeles allowing 4.4 goals per game and brings about a level of confidence that the Lightning are good for 3-5 goals tonight. Hedman has a point in five straight games (all assists) and had four points in two games against the Kings last season.

Alex Tuch is rolling and makes a natural partner for our late games. Tuch, a member of the Sabres' top line, has seven points in his last four games. Buffalo is averaging a surprising 4.4 goals per game, and with Seattle allowing 3.9 scores per contest, the trends suggest the Sabres will find the back of the net tonight.
